Al igual que la Luna, Estudio A-cero tiene dos caras, dos personalidades muy diferentes. La m\u00e1s reconocida es la de Joaqu\u00edn Torres, un arquitecto que ha promovido en los medios el trabajo de A-cero.\u00a0 La que no solemos ver es la de Rafael Llamazares, arquitecto y socio de Joaqu\u00edn durante veinte a\u00f1os. Siendo el\u00a0 equilibrio y complemento perfecto para esta empresa. Rafael, desde su posici\u00f3n m\u00e1s observadora, trabaja para conseguir que A-cero sea uno de los estudios de arquitectura y dise\u00f1o m\u00e1s conocidos de Espa\u00f1a. OcioHogar ha tenido el placer de poder realizarle una entrevista sobre su carrera, su asociaci\u00f3n y trabajo con Joaqu\u00edn y sobre el presente y futuro de Estudio A-cero.<\/strong><\/p>\n

OcioHogar – <\/strong>\u00bfSiempre quiso ser arquitecto? \u00bfQu\u00e9 le motiv\u00f3 a serlo?<\/p>\n

Rafael Llamazares –<\/strong> Pr\u00e1cticamente s\u00ed, no s\u00e9 si desde siempre, pero de peque\u00f1o me gustaba dibujar y mis padres me metieron en clases de dibujo. Poco a poco, con los a\u00f1os, me fue motivando y sugiriendo m\u00e1s el mundo del Arte y en concreto de la Arquitectura.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>Joaqu\u00edn y usted se conocieron en la Universidad, estudiaron la carrera juntos. A d\u00eda de hoy siguen trabajando mano a mano \u00bfcu\u00e1l cree que es el \u00e9xito de una relaci\u00f3n tan duradera?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Supongo que el \u00e9xito consiste en el respeto, personal y profesional. Por supuesto compartimos un criterio est\u00e9tico y tambi\u00e9n empresarial. Creo que nos complementamos muy bien y para mi es siempre una satisfacci\u00f3n estar a su lado.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>Una de las primeras obras, tras el Bar Casa Pilar y la residencia de Amancio Ortega, fue la residencia del padre de Joaqu\u00edn, Juan Torres. \u00bfC\u00f3mo es trabajar con el hijo teniendo de cliente al padre?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Es un proyecto muy especial, sobre todo para Joaqu\u00edn. Tuvimos la enorme suerte de poder contar con un alto grado de libertad creativa para esta vivienda, creo que el resultado fue muy positivo. Aunque nuestros dise\u00f1os l\u00f3gicamente han evolucionado con los a\u00f1os, siempre ser\u00e1 una obra referente para A-cero<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>El dise\u00f1o de La Finca puede ser uno de los m\u00e1s conocidos del Estudio A-Cero \u00bfQu\u00e9 fue lo m\u00e1s complicado a la hora de plantearse este proyecto?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Efectivamente es uno de los proyectos residenciales m\u00e1s importantes que hayamos realizado. De nuevo un promotor, en este caso, Luis Garc\u00eda Cereceda, nos brind\u00f3 la oportunidad de dise\u00f1ar la zona m\u00e1s exclusiva de La Finca: Los Lagos. Esa oportunidad se torn\u00f3 en confianza y de nuevo cierta libertad creativa. Es una obra que est\u00e1 ah\u00ed, fueron muchos a\u00f1os de mucho trabajo, de mucha dedicaci\u00f3n pues aparte de vivienda de promoci\u00f3n realizamos tambi\u00e9n unifamiliares exclusivas para diferentes clientes, pero creo que finalmente ha resultado ser un referente en urbanizaci\u00f3n de lujo al menos en Madrid.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>Ustedes realizan distintos proyectos dentro del dise\u00f1o. Joaqu\u00edn se atrevi\u00f3 con el mundo editorial. \u00bfQu\u00e9 otro sector le gustar\u00eda probar a usted?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> A-cero es un estudio multidisciplinar. Es cierto que realizamos muchos dise\u00f1os de diferentes tipolog\u00edas pues tenemos esa capacidad. Joaqu\u00edn es tremendamente inquieto en ese sentido y yo le sigo, le apoyo en los pasos que vamos dando. Son ya casi 20 a\u00f1os de A-cero y la evoluci\u00f3n y el crecimiento son evidentes y no sin dificultades y dedicando pr\u00e1cticamente nuestras vidas al estudio, debemos estar satisfechos de nuestro trabajo y cualquier sector que debamos probar, lo probaremos. Siempre hay que hacer cosas.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>Sus proyectos van desde casa de lujo unifamiliares hasta bloques de viviendas o casas m\u00e1s asequibles \u00bfCu\u00e1l ser\u00eda el mejor consejo que podr\u00eda darle a cualquier lector sobre dise\u00f1o de interiores para las viviendas menos lujosas?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Que sigan su instinto, su propio criterio, el hogar en el que van a vivir tiene que tener su propia esencia\u2026 Pero lo mejor siempre es que se dejen asesorar o que contraten a profesionales, y si es a A-cero mejor que mejor.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo es el proceso de dise\u00f1o de un proyecto? \u00bfQu\u00e9 pasos dan hasta que se materializa?<\/p>\n

Por resumir un poco: Escuchar al cliente, su programa de necesidades, adaptar esto a lo que se permita realizar, adaptar nuestro dise\u00f1o, dibujar, legalizar, construir\u2026<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong>\u00bfPodr\u00eda contarnos en qu\u00e9 proyectos est\u00e1 trabajando actualmente?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Debemos tener m\u00e1s de 50 proyectos abiertos en el estudio en este momento, seguramente mitad cliente nacional, mitad extranjero\u2026 Desde una tienda de lujo en Par\u00eds, un Hotel en Georgia, varias viviendas en Rusia o Miami, en Oriente Medio, Malta, Tailandia y muchas m\u00e1s localizaciones. Constantemente tambi\u00e9n dise\u00f1o industrial\u2026 Tenemos la suerte de tener diversidad de proyectos.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>Dentro de las otras labores que realizan en Estudio A-Cero est\u00e1 el dise\u00f1o de interiores y la creaci\u00f3n de muebles \u00bfCu\u00e1l de los muebles que ha dise\u00f1ado le gusta m\u00e1s? \u00bfQu\u00e9 proyecto de interiorismo fue m\u00e1s atractivo?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Es una pregunta con una respuesta imposible. Cada uno de nuestros dise\u00f1os o proyectos supongo que son como hijos, es tremendamente complicado elegir\u2026<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>\u00a0Joaqu\u00edn\u00a0 ha sido la cara m\u00e1s visible del Estudio. \u00bfQu\u00e9 ventajas e inconvenientes tiene el no aparecer tanto en los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n? \u00bfLe hubiera gustado asumir ese papel?<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> Joaqu\u00edn ha realizado un esfuerzo enorme en estos 20 a\u00f1os en dar a conocer su trabajo, el estudio A-cero. E independientemente de mi apoyo incondicional hacia \u00e9l, no hemos dejado de crecer y lo que es mejor, con buenas previsiones en el futuro. Yo, francamente, no dispongo de ese carisma, esa facilidad para comunicar en los medios.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>Si usted no fuera arquitecto, habr\u00eda sido\u2026<\/p>\n

R.Ll. –<\/strong> La verdad es que no tengo ni idea\u2026<\/p>\n

    Like the moon, Estudio A-cero has two faces, two very different personalities. The most renowned is that of Joaqu\u00edn Torres, an architect who has promoted in the media the work of A-cero. The one we do not usually see is Rafael Llamazares, architect and partner of Joaquin for twenty years. Rafael provides the perfect balance and complements the company. Rafael, from his observer status, has been working for A-cero to become one of the best known architecture and design firms in Spain. OcioHogar has had the pleasure to interview\u00a0 him about his career, his association and work with Joaquin and the present and future of Estudio A-cero<\/strong><\/p>\n

    OcioHogar- Did you always want to be an architect? What was your motivation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Rafael Llamazares<\/strong> – Practically yes, I\u2019m not sure if since always, but when I was a boy I liked to draw and my parents signed me up in drawing classes. Gradually, over the years, I felt more encouraging and suggesting the world of Art and Architecture in particular.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Joaquin and you met in college studying your degree together. Nowadays you are still working together. What do you think is the success of such a lasting relationship?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> I guess the success is respect, both from a personal and professional point of view. Of course we share an aesthetic and business judgment. I think we complement each other very well and for me it is always a pleasure to be at his side.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> One of the first works after the Bar Casa Pilar and Amancio Ortega’s residence was the residence of Joaquin\u2019s father, Juan Torres. How is working with the son as partner and the father as customer?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> It was a very special project, especially for Joaquin. We had the great fortune to have a high degree of creative freedom for this house. I think the result was very positive. Although our designs have evolved naturally over the years, always it will be a work of reference for A-cero<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> The design of La Finca can be one of the most famous of Estudio A-cero. What was more complicated when you were considering this project?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> Indeed it is one of the largest residential projects we have done. Again a promoter, in this case, Luis Garcia Cereceda, gave us the opportunity to design the most exclusive area of \u200b\u200bLa Finca: Los Lagos. That opportunity turned into confidence and again some creative freedom. It is a production that is there, it supposed many years of hard work and a lot of dedication because besides housing promotion we also manage exclusive townhouses for different clients. However I think it has finally proved to be a reference in luxury developments in Madrid.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> You perform different projects of design. Joaqu\u00edn dared to publishing a book. Would you like to work in other sectors or other types of design?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> A-cero is a multidisciplinary Estudio. It is true that we make many designs of different types as we have that capacity. Joaquin is extremely restless in that sense and I follow him, I support him in all steps we are taking. A-cero started almost 20 years ago and the evolution and growth are evident and not without difficulties and devoting our lives to the Study. We should be satisfied with our work. Always doing things.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Your projects range from luxury single-family home to apartment buildings or more affordable homes. What would be the best advice you could give to any reader about interior design for less expensive housing?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> They should follow their instincts, their own judgment. The home, in which they will live, should have their own essence… But the best is always to get advice or to hire professionals, and if it is A-cero better.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> How is the process of designing a project? What steps until they materialize?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> To summarize a bit: listen to the customer, their program of needs, to adapt this to what is allowed to perform, adapt our design, draw, legalize, build…<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Could you tell us what projects are you currently working on?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> We have more than 50 open projects in the Estudio right now, probably half national client, half abroad … From a luxury store in Paris, a Hotel in Georgia, several houses in Russia and Miami, middle East, Malta, Thailand and many more locations. Also Industrial design constantly … We are fortunate to have a diversity of projects.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Among other activities performed in Estudio A-cero, you also work on interior design and furniture creation. Which is your favourite product? What interior design project was more attractive?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> It’s a question with an impossible answer. Each of our designs or projects are like our children I guess, it is extremely difficult to choose…<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Joaqu\u00edn has been the most visible face of Estudio A-cero. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the media? Would you have liked taking on that role?<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> Joaquin has made an enormous effort in these 20 years in publicizing our work, the Estudio A-cero. And regardless of my full support to him, we have not stopped growing and what is best, with good prospects in the future. Honestly I have not that charisma, that ability to communicate in the media.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> If you were not an architect, you would have been…<\/p>\n

    R.Ll. –<\/strong> The truth is I have no idea…<\/p>\n
