Una pareja de arquitectos que uni\u00f3 sus fuerzas para crear una firma referente en Italia y gran parte del mundo. Alberto\u00a0y Natalia han conseguido el equilibrio perfecto en su relaci\u00f3n laboral y eso se transmite en sus creaciones. OcioHogar ha tenido el gusto de entrevistarles y conocer un poquito m\u00e1s sobre su marca y su trabajo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

OcioHogar\u00a0 –<\/strong> \u00a0\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 decidieron convertirse en dise\u00f1adores de muebles y productos?<\/p>\n

Basaglia&Rota –<\/strong> Somos arquitectos y el proyecto es nuestra pasi\u00f3n; las oportunidades de la vida nos han llevado a hacernos cargo tambi\u00e9n de los muebles y el dise\u00f1o de productos.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> \u00bfQu\u00e9 necesita un dise\u00f1o para convertirse en un \u00e9xito?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Un buen productor, un buen dise\u00f1ador y el precio correcto.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> Entre todos sus dise\u00f1os \u00bfcu\u00e1l es su preferido?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Es dif\u00edcil contestar esta pregunta, cada producto tiene una historia y cada historia es una pieza de nuestra vida. Es imposible elegir.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1les son sus fuentes de inspiraci\u00f3n? \u00bfD\u00f3nde encuentran las fuentes?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Nos encanta viajar, visitar museos, ciudades modernas, antiguas iglesias o paisajes naturales… la inspiraci\u00f3n est\u00e1 en todas partes.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo es un d\u00eda de trabajo normal para ustedes?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> No hay un d\u00eda de trabajo \u00abnormal\u00bb. A veces puede ser divertido, a veces es un poco complicado. Por ejemplo hoy estamos teniendo un evento de jornada de puertas abiertas organizada con la C\u00e1mara de Arquitectos de Bergamo. Abrimos las puertas de nuestro estudio a todo el mundo \u00a0que quiera visitar o conocer nuestro trabajo.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> Ustedes llevan trabajando juntos desde 1997. \u00bfCu\u00e1l es el secreto de una relaci\u00f3n tan duradera?<\/p>\n

B&R \u2013<\/strong> Mantener la calma cuando el otro se vuelve loco.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> En su opini\u00f3n, \u00bfcu\u00e1l va a ser la pieza estrella o \u00e9xito de ventas de muebles en esta temporada?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> El escritorio \u00a0de pie de oficina.<\/p>\n

OH – <\/strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo ven el futuro del dise\u00f1o de muebles?<\/p>\n

B&R \u2013<\/strong> Se mantendr\u00e1 el crecimiento de la brecha entre la producci\u00f3n de lujo hecha a mano para peque\u00f1os nichos y la producci\u00f3n industrial para cubrir los grandes mercados. Un peque\u00f1o papel marginal podr\u00eda tener autoproducci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> En 1997 crearon su empresa Basaglia&Rota Nodari. Desde entonces han trabajado con muchas empresas como Lema, Rexite, BPA, Luxit, I TRE, Pedrali, Outlook, Diemmebi, Treca Interior, Casa Blitz, Progetti. Tambi\u00e9n son los directores de arte de YDF, Outlook Design Italia, Diemmebi Urbantime y Blitz Bovisa. \u00bfCon cu\u00e1les otras empresas les gustar\u00eda trabajar?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> La lista es muy larga. Nos gustar\u00eda experimentar m\u00e1s en \u00e1reas fuera de mobiliario, como ya lo estamos haciendo con la marca Denardi, o ponernos a prueba trabajando en la moda o en el sector lujo. Mundos lejanos \u00a0de lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora. Nos gustan los retos.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> En 1999 ganaron el primer premio en el concurso Young&Design. \u00bfPodr\u00eda ser uno de los premios m\u00e1s importantes en sus carreras?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> \u00c9ramos muy j\u00f3venes y fue nuestra primera experiencia como dise\u00f1adores. Sentimos las mismas emociones que una joven cantante ganando Factor X. Una experiencia incre\u00edble.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> Adem\u00e1s Basaglia&Rota Nodari ha ganado importantes premios como el Good Design Award (2007) de Chicago Athenaeum (2007). \u00bfQu\u00e9 importancia tiene para ustedes ganar estos premios?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Siempre es muy gratificante recibir este tipo de reconocimientos internacionales por nuestro trabajo. Pero el verdadero \u00e9xito de un producto de dise\u00f1o se decide por el p\u00fablico que lo compra.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong>\u00bfPodr\u00edan contarnos un poco acerca de su trabajo en progreso? \u00bfCu\u00e1les van a ser sus pr\u00f3ximos productos?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Siempre estamos muy ocupados con el desarrollo de productos para las marcas en las que somos directores creativos. Hace casi un a\u00f1o comenzamos a trabajar con una importante empresa italiana. Pero no podemos anticipar nada, esperamos poder anunciarlo antes del Sal\u00f3n del Mueble de Mil\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

OH \u2013<\/strong> En OcioHogar vendemos la l\u00e1mpara Collete para Pedrali, que se present\u00f3 por primera vez en 2013, durante la inauguraci\u00f3n de \u00abSinergias alternativas. 15 a\u00f1os de proyectos para empresas.\u00bb, Celebrado en Mil\u00e1n en la Fondazione Achille Castiglioni. \u00bfPodr\u00eda ser una de las presentaciones m\u00e1s importantes de sus carreras? \u00bfPodr\u00edan contarnos m\u00e1s sobre su proceso de dise\u00f1o o su fuente de inspiraci\u00f3n en este producto?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Colette es uno de los productos m\u00e1s avanzados tecnol\u00f3gicamente que hemos dise\u00f1ado. Fue posible lograrlo s\u00f3lo a trav\u00e9s del poder de un grupo industrial como Pedrali. \u00a0En la colecci\u00f3n de Pedrali faltaba en nuestra opini\u00f3n un objeto que fuera reconocible al instante y con una fuerte personalidad que se convierte en el s\u00edmbolo de toda la colecci\u00f3n \u201cTiempo de iluminaci\u00f3n\u201d. Nos inspiramos en el pasado para recrear un objeto de estilo contempor\u00e1neo et\u00e9reo, cuyas formas pueden durar.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> Ustedes dise\u00f1an sobre todo muebles y accesorios para el hogar. Tambi\u00e9n trabajan en la comunicaci\u00f3n y dise\u00f1o gr\u00e1fico. \u00bfLes gustar\u00eda trabajar en otros sectores de dise\u00f1o (por ejemplo: la joyer\u00eda, electrodom\u00e9sticos…)?<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Nos encantan los retos y, a menudo, tomamos lo mejor de nosotros cuando trabajamos en nuevos campos.<\/p>\n

OH –<\/strong> Si no fueran dise\u00f1adores, ser\u00edan…<\/p>\n

B&R –<\/strong> Cocineros o mejor, cr\u00edticos gastron\u00f3micos.<\/p>\n

    A couple of architects that have joined their forces to create a landmark\u2019s firm in Italy and much of the world. Albert and Natalia have achieved the right balance in their working relationship and that is transmitted in their creations. OcioHogar has had the pleasure to interview them and learn a little more about their brand and work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    OcioHogar –<\/strong> What made you decide to become a furniture and product designer?<\/p>\n

    Basaglia&Rota – <\/strong>We are architect and the project is our passion; the opportunities of life have led us to take care also of furniture and product design.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> What needs a design to become a success?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> A good producer, a good designer, the right price.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Among all your designs, which is your favourite product?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> It is hard answer at this question,\u00a0 every product has an history and each history\u00a0 is a peace of our life. It is impossible to choose.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Which is your source of inspiration? Where do you find those sources?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> We love travelling, visiting museum, modern cities, ancient churches or natural landscape \u2026 the inspiration is everywhere.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> How is a normal business day for you?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> There isn\u2019t a \u201cnormal\u201d business day. Sometimes this can be enjoyable, sometimes is a bit complicate.\u00a0 For example today we are having an open day event organized with the Chamber of Architects of \u00a0Bergamo, we opened our doors studio to everybody wants visit it or know our job.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> You have been working together since 1997. Which is the secret of such a lasting relationship?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> Keep calm when the other one get crazy.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> In your opinion, which is going to be the star or best-seller piece of furniture this season?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> The standing office desk.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> How do you see the future of furniture design?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> It will keep growing the gap between the production of handmade luxury for small niches and the industrial production to cover the large markets. A small marginal role could have self-production.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> In 1997 you created your firm Basaglia&Rota Nodari. Since then you have worked with many companies as Lema, Rexite, BPA, Luxit, I TRE, Pedrali, Outlook, Diemmebi, Treca Interior, Casa Blitz, Progetti. Also you are the art directors of YDF, Outlook Design Italia, Diemmebi Urbantime and Blitz Bovisa. What other company would you like to work for?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> The list is too long. We would like to experiment more in areas outside of forniture design, as we are already doing with the brand Denardi, or test ourselves working in the fashion or luxury. Worlds far from what we have done till now. We like challenges.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> In 1999 you won the first prize in the Young & Design competition. Could it be one of the most significant award in your career?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> We were very young and it was our first experience as designer. We felt the same emotions of a young singer winning X factor. An incredible experience.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> In addition Basaglia&Rota Nodari had won important awards as the Good Design Award (2007) of Chicago Athenaeum (2007). How important is for you winning these contests?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> It\u2019s always very gratifying to receive this kind of international recognition for our work. But the real success of a design product\u00a0 is decided by the public who buys it.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> Could you tell us a little bit about your work in progress? Which are going to be your next products?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> We are always very busy with the development of products for the brands for which we are also creative directors. For almost a year we began working with an important Italian company. But we cannot anticipate anything, we hope to come out before the Milan Salone del Mobile.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> We sell the lamp Collete for Pedrali, it was present for the first time in 2013 during the opening of \u201cAlternative Synergies. 15 years of projects for companies.\u201d, held in Milan at the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni. Could it be one of the most important presentations of your career? Could you tell us more about its design process or your source of inspiration?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> Colette is one of the most technologically advanced product we designed. It ‘was possible to achieve only through the power of an industrial group like Pedrali. Pedrali’s collection was missing in our view an object that was instantly recognizable and with a strong personality that it becomes the symbol of the entire collection Lighting Time. We were inspired by the past to recreate an object ethereal, contemporary style, whose shapes can last.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> You design mostly furniture and home accessories. Also you work too on communication and graphic concerns. Would you like to work in other design sectors (ex: jewellery, white goods\u2026)?<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> We love challenges and often take the best of us when we work in new fields.<\/p>\n

    OH –<\/strong> If you weren\u2019t designer, you would be\u2026<\/p>\n

    B&R –<\/strong> Cooker or better food critics.<\/p>\n
