Alex Sacchetti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Alex Sacchetti is an italian designer, he was born in Piacenza in 1979. He went to NABA in Milan where he graduated in Industrial Design in 2003 with a thesis entitled \u00abThe Microcar, a study and a hypothesis of the project\u00bb. This thesis was included in Car Design. He alternate his studies with competitions outside the school improving his training. He began to collaborate with Zagato, Alfa Romeo and Design Group Italia.<\/p>\n

Alex Sacchetti es un dise\u00f1ador italiano nacido en Piaceza en 1979. Estudi\u00f3 la carrera de Dise\u00f1o Industrial en NABA (Milan) donde finalmente se gradu\u00f3 en 2003. Su tesis de final de carrera titulada Microcar un estudio e hipotesis de proyecto fue incluida en Car Design. Mientras estudiaba la carrera, se apunto a competiciones de dise\u00f1o externas a su escuela con el animo de complementar sus estudios. Gracias a ello, Alex empez\u00f3 a colaborar con empresas tan importantes como Zagato, Alfa Romeo y Design Group Italia.<\/p>\n

What made you decide to become a furniture and product designer?<\/strong>
\n \u00bfQu\u00e9 le llev\u00f3 a convertirse en dise\u00f1ador de productos\/muebles para la casa?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: It\u2019s something that I didn\u2019t choose I just felt it, it is a talent that I have since I was a child, it is part of my character and way of seeing things.<\/p>\n

SPA: Es algo que no decidi, fue algo que sucedio. Es un sentimiento que llevo dentro de mi desde ni\u00f1o, es parte de mi caracter y de mi personalidad<\/p>\n

How was the experience of collaborating with automotive style centers as Zagato and Alfa Romeo?<\/strong>
\n \u00bfComo fu\u00e9 la experiencia de colaborar con dise\u00f1adores como Zagato y Alfa Romeo?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: My working experience in Zagato and Alfa Romeo, has helped me in growing in different areas. They both gave me the opportunity to work with experts that taught me different design methods and systems along with different styles and trends, that would of have taken me a lot of time to acquire and learn, given my young age. The partnership and close relationship between Zagato and Alfa Romeo, has led for exchanging information between them, as for example technologies and expertise in high quality sewing standards Zagato has and the productivity and determination of Alfa Romeo.<\/p>\n

SPA: Mi experiencia de trabajo en Zagato y Alfa Romeo, me ha ayudado en el crecimiento de distintas \u00e1reas. Ambos me dieron la oportunidad de trabajar con expertos que me ense\u00f1aron diferentes m\u00e9todos de dise\u00f1o y sistemas, junto con diferentes estilos y tendencias, los cuales me hubieran requerido mucho tiempo para adquirir y aprenderlos, vista mi edad. La asociaci\u00f3n y la estrecha relaci\u00f3n entre Zagato y Alfa Romeo, ha dado lugar para el intercambio de informaci\u00f3n entre ellos, como por ejemplo las tecnolog\u00edas y los conocimientos de alta calidad de costura de Zagato con la productividad y la determinaci\u00f3n de Alfa Romeo.<\/p>\n

What led you to study industrial design?<\/strong>
\n \u00bfQu\u00e9 le hizo decidirse a estudiar dise\u00f1o industrial?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: Industrial design was the perfect career choice for me. I had done some artistic courses and had won some product design contests and I had already chosen to study at Milano N.A.B.A. to develope and grow my interests and talent.<\/p>\n

SPA: Dise\u00f1o industrial fue la elecci\u00f3n profesional perfecta para m\u00ed. Hab\u00eda tomado algunos cursos art\u00edsticos y hab\u00eda ganado algunos concursos de dise\u00f1o de producto y ya hab\u00eda decidido estudiar en Milano NABA para desarrollar y crecer mis intereses y talento en el dise\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us about the collaboration in the design of Alfa Romeo 159 GTA?<\/strong>
\n \u00bfPuede contarnos acerca de su colaboraci\u00f3n en el dise\u00f1o del Alfa Romeo 159 GTA?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: I was involved in the GTA Alfa Romeo Brera and 159 models. It was a once in a life time experience, which was very intense and rapid since we had to prepare sketches and realistic renderings in a very short time for the company presentation. The models presented remained at a rendering stage.<\/p>\n

SPA: Estuve involucrado en los modelos GTA Alfa Romeo Brera y 159. Fue una experiencia \u00fanica en la vida, la\u00a0cual fue muy intensa y r\u00e1pida visto que tuvimos que preparar bocetos y resoluciones realistas en un lapso de tiempo muy corto para la presentaci\u00f3n en la empresa. Los modelos presentados se mantuvieron en la etapa de bocetos.<\/p>\n

What needs a design to become a success?<\/strong>
\n \u00bfQu\u00e9 necesita un dise\u00f1o para convertirse en un exito?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: The concept should be at the essence of the project. If an idea is unique, original and matches a pure design it could become a success, but it also depends if who produces and buys understands the design message clearly.<\/p>\n

SPA: El concepto debe estar en la esencia del proyecto. Si una idea es \u00fanica, original y coincide con un dise\u00f1o funcional; podr\u00eda convertirse en un \u00e9xito, pero tambi\u00e9n depende si quien produce y compra entiende el mensaje del dise\u00f1o claramente.<\/p>\n

Among all your designs, which is your favourite product?<\/strong>
\n \u00bfCu\u00e1l es, de entre todos los productos que ha dise\u00f1ado, del que se siente m\u00e1s satisfecho?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: Every object I have designed has a story that shows the different faces of my professional career. This because the companies I have worked with, are companies from different markets and sectors. That is why I can\u2019t chose one favorite object.<\/p>\n

SPA: Cada objeto que he dise\u00f1ado tiene una historia que muestra las diferentes faces de mi carrera profesional. Esto debido a que, las empresas con las que he trabajado, son empresas de diferentes mercados y sectores. Es por eso que no puedo elegir un objeto preferido.<\/p>\n

Which is your source of inspiration? Where do you find those sources?<\/strong>

ENG: It may seem shallow, but it is not. Inspiration can come from anything that is part of my daily routine, you only need to identify it and apply it.<\/p>\n

SPA: Puede parecer superficial, pero no lo es. La inspiraci\u00f3n puede venir de todo lo que es parte de mi rutina diaria, necesitas solo identificarla e aplicarla.<\/p>\n

How is a normal business day for you?<\/strong>

ENG: I try to organize my day based on the projects I have to work on and according to the priorities each one of them requires. I try to do this so I can satisfy first the projects I have been assigned and to conclude the concepts I have created and make sure that each idea functions correctly.<\/p>\n

SPA: Trato de organizar mi d\u00eda a partir de las prioridades que cada uno de los proyectos requiere. Trato de hacer esto, para poder satisfacer primero los proyectos que me han asignado y despu\u00e8s trato de concluir y aterrizar los conceptos que he creado y asegurarme que funcione todo en cada uno de ellos.<\/p>\n

In your opinion, which is going to be the star piece of furniture this season?<\/strong>

\n \u00bfC\u00f3mo ve el futuro en el mundo de dise\u00f1o de mobiliario?<\/strong><\/p>\n

ENG: It is hard to say, but I see at the moment some confusion in the guide lines for the future of furniture design. I think that and with this I answer question No.10, that light and natural materials like wood with attractive natural grain designs will dominate furniture design.<\/p>\n

SPA: Es dif\u00edcil decirlo, pero veo en este momento cierta confusi\u00f3n en las l\u00edneas guia para el futuro del dise\u00f1o de muebles. Creo que y con esto respondo a la pregunta N\u00ba 10, que la luz y los materiales naturales como la madera, con texturas atractivas dominar\u00e1 el dise\u00f1o de muebles.<\/p>\n

ENG: I prefer not to call out any brands because I would like to work for many of them. I would say that they are so many brands and I don\u2019t have enough time to propose my designs and become one of their new designers. These brands are all in different sectors so in this way I can have the opportunity to work with different markets and technologies.<\/p>\n

SPA: Prefiero no elegir\u00a0las marcas, porque me gustar\u00eda trabajar para muchas de ellas. Dir\u00eda que son tantas y no tengo tiempo suficiente para proponer mis dise\u00f1os y convertirme en uno de sus nuevos dise\u00f1adores. Todas estas marcas son diferentes para as\u00ed poder tener la oportunidad de trabajar con diferentes mercados y tecnolog\u00edas de producci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
